Who Europe in the Round is For
Anyone interested in Europe (living, working, studying, researching, visiting). It is particularly relevant to users in education - from upper primary to post-16.
What Europe in the Round Covers
The European Union, 25 Member States, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland, 3 candidate countries and 26 other countries. There is data on 243 regions, 539 cities, 600+ European universities, plus a database of over 2500 photographs.

Presentation of Information
Information is presented in a range of formats, including text, graphics, charts, statistical tables, maps, photographs and drawings. The language section for the member state countries also includes sound files.
Users are able to comare any screen with another country by clicking on the chosen flag at the foot of the screen using the main navigation bar:
Any screen can be printed, copied and downloaded to another application.
Operation
Europe in the Round can be run from the CD-ROM drive, from a hard disc or from a network. Europe in the Round can also be accessed from the web.

Navigation and Indexes
Europe in the Round is writtern in HTML web-browser format. It is very easy to use, and requires no training or previous computer experience. Simply point-and-click with the mouse on individual icons via subject and/or country menus to reach the topic of interest.
Alphabetical and Map indexes are accessible from each screen. Clicking a topic/map takes the user directly to the relevant screen. There are also indexes of Photographs, Cities and Curriculum Maps.

Output of Data
Any screen or part of screen can be output to other applications such as a word processor or spreadsheet. Statistical tables can be downloaded into Excel at the single click of a button . Users can collect their own selection of screens and incorporate data or material of their own into interleaved blank screens either using Collections or PowerPoint.
Use in the Curriculum
Europe in the Round is a cross-curricular resource with relevance to a wide range of subjects at KS3 and above. It also offers excellent opportunities for the development of Key Skills (Core Skills in Scotland).
Geography, Citizenship, Business, Leisure and Tourism are closely linked to the curriculum (KS3, KS4, GNVQ and AVCE) and are supported by
curriculum maps and worksheets and asignments.
The Information for Teachers section provides help on how to use Europe in the Round with content covering Getting Started, Use in the Curriculum, Developing Key Skills, IT Features, Printing and Copying and Web Sites.
Europe in the Round has been developed to provide content for a number of curriculum subjects (Geography, Citizenship, Business, Economy, Language, Leisure and Tourism, Health and Social Care, European Studies) for ages 11 to post-16. In addition it is widely used for the teaching of ICT, Communication, Application of Number.

Prices and Licences
The price of Europe in the Round in the UK varies with the status of the purchaser. Prices include postage but VAT has to be added. For details of prices visit Europe in the Round website.
The price for overseas is the same as for the UK except postage has to be added. For a confirmed price overseas purchasers are asked to email us at europeintheround@btopenworld.com .
All prices include a site licence, allowing unlimited use including across a LAN.
Licence prices will depend on the use of the software (home use or elsewhere). Extra discs and trials are also available. See table below:
